crying all day today. good crying, the crying because you’re feeling something and letting it sink in.
my friend Michelle.
I love my friend Michelle for who she is.
she loves Jesus, and she’s not afraid to be honest.
she has made an impact on my life in several ways. one way is her enthusiasm for horses.
you see, I have always loved horses. LOVE THEM. everything about them. riding them. cleaning up after them. taking care of them. just being around them. listening to them breathe and eat and nicker and roll....
“It’s 12:36 A.M. and I can’t sleep because I’m thinking of him.
I can’t believe I’m justifying his existence right now by actually wasting my thoughts on someone who clearly is not worth it.
And no, “he” is not some 17-year-old boy. In fact, “he” is a 42 year-old-man boy who has the nerve to still say “I love you” to my siblings and me.
I hope I’m not being too...
and oh,
I’m running to Your arms.
I’m running to Your arms.
compromise.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
while it can be a good thing in a disagreement, personal compromise is….well, like I just expressed,
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
this life isn’t about friends.
it isn’t about family.
it isn’t about education or wealth or success or fame or recognition.
it isn’t about settling down somewhere with someone and doing something somehow the rest of your lives.
these things can be blessings, not to distract one from pursuing and desiring God.
ultimately, this temporary life is about bringing glory to...
most men propose on one knee
but You came to me
hanging on a tree.
my bridegroom, my love.
the worst thing
chapped lips.
BOO. YOU.
“Its what’s for breakfast.
frosted flakes:
they are not your everday flake. They are sugar coated. They make you feel more disgusting after you consume their lies.
honey nut cheerios:
contain nuts. You love these. You could possibly live on them as the one cereal for the rest of your life. They help your heart. They call you ”honey” then they say “cheerio” as in goodbye. They stop...
God is so awesome. wait…awesome? that doesn’t even begin to describe Him. awesome describes a corvette, the grand canyon, cookie dough. God is so, so much more than that.
I’ve always struggled with the confines of language. words don’t seem sufficient for the stirrings of my heart, the truths I know in my soul. sometimes I don’t know what to do with myself because...
funny moments.
August 8, 2010:
my sister and I ran to Ulta to pick up some hair products. on our way there, our dad sends us a text. “please pick me up a package of lavender barrettes, mouse with sparkles, and something random to accessorize my new pink and white handbag. just surprise me!”
we almost died laughing.
“two of my worst fears: disembodied voices and children that don’t blink. have you ever been in a room with a child that doesn’t blink? it’s terrifying!”

several thousand years ago the Creator of our universe, in order to give us the salvation we so desperately needed, came to Earth in human form to live a perfect life and die for our sins. His never-ending love and the promise of an eternity in heaven with Him,
GIVES ME HOPE:)
old memories.
setting: Dairy Queen, about a year ago
(my dad and I are sharing a brownie earthquake, as he stares curiously at something behind me. I turn and notice he’s pondering the entrance to the restrooms.)
dad: “isn’t it ironic that the bathroom doorways are so abnormally small in a dairy queen. I mean, out of all places, they should have extra large doorways for the type of people...
seth.
seth humor is the quirkiest. I remember this particular family dining experience when seth piped up and proclaimed he had a joke.
“hey guys, wanna hear a good joke?”
“sure!”
“why do zebras have stripes?”
“……”
“because that’s their favorite color!”
sometimes nonsensical, sometimes zany and sometimes just plain...
